Writing something about Reiki today is not a difficult thing to do. In fact, many books have been written about Reiki and there are hundreds of websites to be visited in order to know more about this subject. On the other hand it becomes a lot more difficult to write something new about it.
Before writing this introduction to this beautiful art, I wondered, "but in reality what is Reiki?" You know, it is not so easy to describe in words something that should actually be experienced. I am convinced that in order to really get to know something, it is necessary to fully experience it.
The problem, however, usually comes from the kind of expectations that people have about something and in this case about Reiki. Maybe you have read a book about Reiki, or some friend told you something about it, or maybe you ended up on a website that explains what Reiki is or this is the very first time that you hear about it and maybe you already have preconceptions.
Each person is unique in the Universe. Therefore, the way of seeing and feeling things is unique for each of us. What I'm writing here is in fact the result of the personal experience I have had with Reiki and for this exact reason what I am going to ask you is not to simply believe what I’m saying, but instead to try it for yourself so that you can one day describe your own experience with Reiki.
Reiki for me is life and, as such, it could never be codified or translated into words and the reason for this is that words are too limited. This means that the notion that I would transfer to you by using words would end up being limited and limiting.
Reiki is constantly evolving, just like life, and therefore it adapts to all circumstances with which it comes into contact. When Reiki is in relation with me, it will adapt to and suit my very own characteristics and this is in fact what Reiki has done in my life. This is how Reiki transforms us and this is how we transform it in return. Once Reiki has become a part of your life, it will surprise you, for skill and intelligence. As you get to know it better and deeper, you will see that again and again and with renewed emphasis Reiki will create situations that lead you to having to look within yourself, to investigate, to transform yourself until you have completely re-shaped and renewed yourself, and with you, the environment in which you live. Only then can you reach the kind of evolution, growth and healing that you have been looking for. Reiki is fully aware of what you need, but it also needs your help and your action and the reason for this is that it will certainly never force you to do anything as it never could.
Reiki means universal life energy. You see, the word Reiki already explains what Reiki really is. Reiki is energy that moves. Reiki is energy that makes evolution possible. Reiki is the energy that causes things to grow. It is the growth that life itself is impregnated with. Reiki is universal energy; universal because life is in everything, even in what is seemingly dead. That's why to give or receive Reiki means to contact the source from which everything springs and from which everything comes and goes in unity with the life cycle.
The history and techniques are important but not essential. To practice Reiki all you need to do is open yourselves to life and to yourselves. That's why I wish you that you may have a chance to encounter Reiki in your life so that you can experience it directly. By doing so next time it will be you to write something new and different about this ancient art.
Reiki brings transformation, which leads us to be in resonance with the sound of life, which is unique for each and every one of us. This is the kind of sound that is often ignored. Each of us has in fact a particular sound or frequency or code that distinguishes our own energy from the energy of others. To connect with this sound is often difficult because we have the tendency to project ourselves outside of us. This is due to the fact that we see our image only partially. We perceive it in full only by way of reflection - such as in a mirror - and this creates the illusion that in order to find unity we need to look outside. So we project small parts of ourselves into outer situations, objects, ideals, etc. Then what we do is to identify ourselves with all these things. In this way, however, instead of unity we experience more and more of the kind of separation and loss that inevitably creates suffering within ourselves. This misidentification does not bring us closer to our real essence, but rather takes us far away from it.
Being attuned to Reiki means symbolically to begin a new action or to change our course and start over from something or somewhere that perhaps was not appropriate to our nature. Becoming a Reiki channel means opening the door to ourselves and reunite with our true selves after a long exile.
Along this path we have the chance to discover that we have the potential to be happy. But the biggest awareness is that we already possess all that we need. "Wherever you go, you are there already." This beautiful phrase, which is taken from a book, enlightens us and guides us because there is no place where we must go in order to find happiness as it is already naturally present within us.
Reiki is therefore a path of growth. It is not the path of the growth of our ego, neither of our body. Instead, it is a path of growth in the awareness that we are all waves of a vast ocean of love.
Here in this Blog you will find plenty of information on Reiki. This information will always be presented in a humble way and it will be made available and accessible to both the experts and the neophytes.
Thus I hope you all find what you're looking for in the shortest amount of time and if I, with my little experience, may have contributed to give answers to your questions, this will transmute my sacrifices into divine gifts.
Before closing I would like to take this opportunity to wish you peace and prosperity for your lives.
